Why ?

Why must we be separated ?

Is it because we are different ?
Well , everybody is different ,
Nobody is exactly the same .
But why must we feel this way ?
Feel like we don't belong ,
As if we are on the outside ,
Not the inside .
If you think about it , we aren't so different .
I'm sure of this ,
I'm sure we have the same struggles in life ,
Like the death of a loved one ,
Depressing times .
We are like stars* ,
Each an individual , but so similar .
We are songs , different lengths ,
But still have a message .
We all feel the same emotions ,
Happy like a five year old getting a new toy ,
Hostile like a mother who's child is screaming in the grocery store ,

Or even gloomy like someone who got Their heart broken ,
But we deal with these feelings in different ways ,
We all feel the same pain , but find various ways to ease it .
Some people cut themselves ,
Some people write poetry ,
And others do what they think is the best way to get rid of it .
We might all deal with it in our own ways ,
But we feel the same .
We are NOT outsiders ,
We are just unique INDIVIDUALS !
